Founded forty years ago as a family-run business, Rotel's vocation has always been to design and manufacture high-performance hi-fi and home theater components. Combining tradition and modernity, the 2012 range of Rotel integrated amplifiers reflects the desire of the famous audiophile brand to serve music above all else, even dematerialized.

For this purpose, the Rotel RA-12 amplifier adopts a USB port to play AAC (m4a), WAV, MP3 and WMA audio files on iPod/iPhone and PC. To make the most of its digital inputs and USB port, the Rotel RA-12 is equipped with a Wolfson WM8740 24-bit /192 kHz DAC, a component generally intended for very high-end audio products. This ensures top-quality conversion of digital files, for an extremely realistic rendering of your music. Rotel also supplies a USB Bluetooth receiver for listening to music streamed wirelessly from a compatible computer, smartphone or tablet.

The traditional audio section has not been forgotten, however, as the Rotel RA-12 features a toroidal transformer and proprietary linear amplification delivering 2 x 60 watts. The meticulous design of the printed circuit boards and the use of rigorously selected components contribute to making this amplifier a model of its kind in terms of musicality and respect for timbre. Dynamics are excellent, and the high damping factor guarantees perfect speaker control.

The Rotel RA-12 features four line inputs and one phono input, as well as four digital audio inputs (two optical and two coaxial). There's also a Rotel Link input and two 12V Trigger outputs for easy integration and control of a complete system. The double A/B speaker terminal block accepts heavy-duty speaker cable as well as banana plugs. Finally, the remote control supplied gives access to all the functions of the RA-12, which can be easily controlled remotely, as can any other Rotel component with Rotel Link connectivity, such as the Rotel RCD-12 CD player or the Rotel RT-12 network player and external DAC, the latter also benefiting from an iOS application capable of controlling the Rotel RCD-12 CD player.
