Marantz NA-6006: MP3, WAV, FLAC, ALAC and DSD playback

The Marantz NA-6006 network player employs an ESS Tech Sabre ES9016K2M digital-to-analog converter chip, capable of handling stereo PCM streams up to 24 bits / 192 kHz, as well as 2.8 and 5.6 MHz DSD streams. One of the strengths of this player is its ability to play multiple audio file formats, shared on the listener's home network. To do so, these files must be hosted by a computer, smartphone, NAS or box featuring DLNA / UPnP sharing software. This type of software is easy to install, if not systematically integrated (in the case of NAS and box). Highlight: files from the same album (or with identical sampling characteristics) can be played without interruption (gapless mode).

Achieving this level of sound and musical quality at such a modest price is almost a challenge. The PM5005 is based on the topology of the famous PM5004 with the principle of reactive current, in order to respond to the greatest dynamic variations without running out of breath. The metal chassis has been reinforced for greater rigidity and therefore less distortion. Numerous RCA inputs, including the much-appreciated phono (MM) input.

Everything is limpid, uncluttered, defined, transparent and close to perfection. Added to this is a real musical sense that makes it possible to pinpoint the different interpretations: quality of vocal or instrumental vibrato, eloquence of phrasing, melodic follow-up. You'll also appreciate the beautiful note extinctions of a very realistic acoustic. The stereo image, dynamics and remarkable sound grain all contribute to the success of this amplifier.
